Downloading a handpicked colour palette can easily kickstart your progress, by giving you a selection of colours to draw on, ready to go. Want to see how you can do just this? Give it a try with our free Rainbow Basics Procreate colour palette.
How to import a Procreate colour Palette
Step 1: it is easiest to start by downloading the colour palette swatch file directly to your iPad. So to start simply click on the button below when you are using your iPad.
(*note: you can download the file to your computer, but you will need to send it to you iPad anyway, so let’s cut out that step 🤷♀️).
After clicking the button below the Rainbow Basics zip file, containing the swatch and the colour palette jpg, will automatically download to your iPad.
[You may not resell or redistribute this palette/swatch file, claim and copy this palette as your own, and/or alter this palette in any way. Copyright stays with So Mad About Design]
Step 2: Go to ‘files’ on your iPad and open, then find the ‘Rainbow Basics Colour Palette’ zip file.
Step 3: Tap on the zip file to open. A folder will pop up near by.
Inside this folder you will see the swatch file and a colour palette image file.
You can now tap the procreate swatch file and it should automatically import to your palettes. If not, continue with the following steps.
Step 4: Now, open the Procreate app, and select the colour palettes tab.
Step 5: Select the ‘+’ symbol and then ‘new from file’.
Step 6: Open the ‘Rainbow Basics Colour Swatch’ folder and tap on the Swatch file.
Step 7: and just like that, your new colour palette will be in Procreate and ready to go.
(*note- you may need to scroll through your other palettes to find it depending on how may you have!)
It’s as simple as that!
