Here’s your step-by-step guide on how to make a chatterbox.
It’s so simple! And you can get started using out free download (👉 HERE), or just with a piece of paper!
1. Print our Chatterbox PDF, or use a piece of A4 paper.
2. If using our design, cut out the square chatterbox as indicated. Or to make a square from an A4 piece of paper- simply fold one corner across to meet the other edge and trim the excess paper to form a square.
3. Fold the square in half, and then in half again the other way.
4. Open out and turn over so the blank side is facing you (if using our design), and fold each corner into the middle.
5. Turn over and repeat, folding each corner into the middle.
6. Fold in half and then in half again (with the numbers on the inside), ensuring folds are pressed well.
7. Keep folded in half and slide the thumb and finger of one hand behind 2 of the pictures. Gently work your fingers into the centre points and repeat with other hand until all 4 points meet.
5. Easy-peasy! Your Chatterbox is now ready to use!
So, how do you play?
- . Ask a friend to pick a word that is written on one of the corners.
- Open and close the chatterbox while spelling out the word.
- Stop with the chatterbox open when you finish spelling the word.
- Now ask your friend to choose one of the numbers that are written on the inside.
- Repeat step 5 one or two more times.
- Ask your friend to choose one of the options written inside.
- Open the chosen number to read the message inside!
